The system enables users to monitor remaining water in real time and prevent unexpected shortages during daily activities. The method involves assembling hardware consisting of a load cell and an ESP32 microcontroller, followed by a calibration process to ensure accurate weight measurements. Programmed through the Arduino IDE, the ESP32 wirelessly transmits processed sensor data to a cloud platform such as Google Sheets or a hosting service for storage and management. Water levels are visualized through a web-based dashboard that presents data in a clear and accessible format. A notification feature alerts users when the gallon reaches a predefined minimum threshold. Experimental results show that the sensor consistently detects weight changes with stable performance throughout the monitoring process. The dashboard successfully displays real-time data reflecting the actual gallon condition. Overall, the system offers an effective and practical solution for automated water-level monitoring in households, offices, and small businesses.
Alina Rusmiza Sujono Sujono Copyright (c) 2026 Computer Journal https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ 2026-02-10 2026-02-10 4 1 18 26 10.58477/cj.v4i1.354 Peringatan Pintu Belum Tertutup Menggunakan Sensor Magnetik (Reed Switch) dan ESP32 http://journal.ypmma.org/index.php/cj/article/view/356
Forgetting to close a door may seem like a small thing, but it can cause security issues and reduce comfort levels in homes and workplaces. To address this issue, researchers created a system that automatically detects door status. The system uses a Reed Switch magnetic sensor to check whether a door is open or closed, and uses an ESP32 module to process the data and control the output. The design process included circuit construction, programming the ESP32, and testing how well the sensor responds at different distances from the magnet. When the door is opened, the Reed Switch sends a signal to the ESP32, which then triggers a buzzer alarm. Tests showed that the system works in real time with fast response and good stability under various door movement conditions. The device continued to operate smoothly during long tests of up to 12 hours continuously. Experimental results showed that the sensor works very accurately without much noise interference, while the ESP32 executes its logic state stably even when affected by other environmental factors such as vibration and temperature changes. The system has a simple design, low cost, and uncomplicated installation, making it suitable for homes, offices, or other places that require an automatic reminder of a door being left open. This prototype can also be upgraded with Wi-Fi in the future to enable notifications to be sent remotely via a mobile app. The research shows that the combination of the Reed Switch and the ESP32 can effectively improve security by reducing user errors in everyday activities.
Sutha Dani Copyright (c) 2026 Computer Journal https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ 2026-02-10 2026-02-10 4 1 27 33 10.58477/cj.v4i1.356 Implementasi Sistem IoT Berbasis Deteksi Bunyi Menggunakan Sensor Suara untuk Otomatisasi Pencahayaan Rumah http://journal.ypmma.org/index.php/cj/article/view/370
Recent developments in the technology of the Internet of Things (IoT) have led to a more convenient and contactless home automation system. This paper presents an IoT-based home lighting automation system using KY-038 sound detection as a trigger. The functioning principle is based on sound intensity exceeding a certain threshold, which is then processed by an ESP32 microcontroller to control lighting via Wi-Fi in real-time without the need for physical switches. This does not relate to any voice recognition system that uses cloud-based processing, but rather provides simplicity and faster response time through local processing. Testing was done on the performance of the system with variations in distance and sound intensity, where each scenario was repeated 10 times for validation purposes Experimental results show that detection accuracy of 90-100% up to 3 meters with response times between 0.8-1.1 seconds. The system has been tested indoors under conditions of low to moderate ambient noise levels and found reliable operation. It can be integrated with IoT platforms for remote monitoring as well as manual control from mobile applications. This implementation will be very convenient for users especially those having limited mobility and can support energy efficiency in smart home environments by activating lights only when necessary.
M. This paper describes the design and implementation of an IoT-based flood early warning system using ESP32 microcontroller and HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor technology. The system is capable of automated river water level measurements at 5 minutes interval with real-time data sent to a web-based monitoring dashboard. Field validation was conducted in a quantitative experimental study at a river dam facility located in Jombang Regency. Performance testing results show that the system has high reliability, achieving 98.63% data transmission success rate. The HC-SR04 sensor has measurement accuracy of 97.69% with Mean Absolute Error (MAE) value equal to 2.31%. The warning mechanism works by comparing the water level with certain thresholds so that the dashboard can display safe or alert status conditions based on measurements made by the HC-SR04 sensor. Experimental results prove that this system is effective and economically feasible as a flood early warning solution for vulnerable regions, enhancing disaster preparedness capabilities significantly.
Sujono Sujono Muhammad Rusli M Copyright (c) 2026 Computer Journal 2026-02-10 2026-02-10 4 1 41 51 10.58477/cj.v4i1.385
